Thank you so much for your wonderfu...Dear Michelle,<br />Thank you so much for your wonderful review of my novel, Impatient with Desire. That Tamsen Donner resonated so much with you means a great deal to me. It's my hope that readers will come to see her and the other pioneers as REAL people--rather than macabre jokes--in many cases heroic people, who were part of the price paid for California. Re the cover, well, you pretty quickly discovered it's not a romance, but it IS a love story. The title comes from a letter she wrote her sister in 1823, when she took a great sailing ship from MA to North Carolina for a teaching job at a time when women didn't travel alone. Mid trip, she wrote, "My heart is big with hope and impatient with desire."
